It's a good fitting sturdy hat for the price- I happen to come from Native American lineage and big old fat heads tend to be a feature of that, and this hat fits me perfectly.

I believe my head size is between 7-3/4 and 7-7/8 and this hat was just too tight even on the max setting on the band in the back. Well I should mention max setting on this hat means the second hole cause on just one hole the strap just lets go and doesn't hold.

This hat stays on my head and keeps the sun out of my eyes. That's pretty much all I look for in a hat. I don't know about “ giftable” , maybe if you've got a no nonsense person in your life who doesn't fuss over logos or brands and just wants the sun out of their eyes they'll love this hat too. I guess you could sew a cool patch onto it if you're into that sort of thing. Bedazzle it. The world is your oyster friends.
