Mission: IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH BIKES, COMMUNITY AND CYCLING. We strive to enrich our community in Southwest Michigan and promote bicycles and bicycling as viable and sustainable community resources. We accomplish our mission through advocacy for bicycling as an acceptable mode of transportation, by providing training in bicycle maintenance, social skills, safe riding practices, and by diverting bicycles from landfills to be recycled and reused within the community as transportation, recreation, & fitness.

Results: Cycle-Re-Cycle has been operating for 7 years as an all volunteer 501(c)3 Not for Profit*Processed over 1800 bicycles (refurbished, salvaged &/or recycled responsibly)*Nearly 200 youths have been through our Earn-A-Bike Program*Over 50 rehabilitated adults have received bikes from either the Earn-A-Bike or Bikes-As-Transportation program*We average around 160 bikes sold a year over the last 3 years compared to 75 bikes the previous 3 years, & an average of around 40 bikes the founding 4 years*Bikes-As-Transportation are who we exclusively extend our maintenance & service to. On average we reduce standard bicycle maintenance rates by 60%*We have fulfilled our first grant for Cycle-We-Cycle. A summer youth program designed to teach kids about bike maintenance, care, history, safety, the importance of hydration, group riding, biking etiquette toward the community & autoists, & finally a trail ride on the second day applying all the information & skills learned on the introductory day. We have the YMCA of SWMI to thank for collaborating with us to complete our goals. *Researched & educated ourselves on board appropriation & finding new volunteers with thanks to Score Kalamazoo mentorship programs. *We have built, organized & maintained digital resource library. *Continue to collaborate with existing partners as well as connecting with new community leaders, organizations, churches & education facilities.
