The PRO-X6.4MBSL 6-1/2" shallow mount pro midrange speaker from DS18 is designed to bring concert level output capabilities to the car audio market. A low mass paper cone and powerful motor gives the PRO-X6.4MBSL great efficiency and the ability to hit extreme sound pressure levels. An anodized red phase plug gives this midrange an aggressive look and extra heat dissipation for improved power handling. This is a great choice for filling in the midbass and midrange frequencies in any high SPL sound systems.
DS18 PRO-X6.4BMSL 6-1/2" Professional Low Profile Midrange Speaker 4 Ohm
Built for clean and realistic midrange at maximum SPL, DS18's PRO-X6.4MBSL 6-1/2" shallow mount pro midrange driver can deliver concert level output with audiophile quality sound. A large diameter red phase plug not only looks great, but it also offers better off-axis performance, improved cooling, and higher power handling. The lightweight non-pressed paper cone and copper coated aluminum voice coil wire keeps moving mass low for dynamic response. That low mass combined with a powerful motor ensure high efficiency and excellent control. With a massive ferrite magnet and 1.5" high temperature voice coil former, the PRO-X6.4MBSL can take up to 250 watts RMS continuously with minimal power compression (with recommended 180Hz high pass crossover) . With only 2-1/8" mounting depth, this is the perfect driver for use in installations where space is at a premium. This driver will be an excellent addition to high output sound systems built to blow away the competition.
During the focused R&D period of perfecting the PRO-EXL line, DS18 identified the opportunity to spawn off another line since there was a division amongst competition and concert audiophiles. Therefore, DS18 created the PRO audio line, which features a wide variety of midranges that produce concert-like sounds that will knock the wind out of you!
