I've been working with pondmaster pumps since 2015 when a dozen of them were thrust upon me without my consent. I begrudgingly accepted them for a project involving cultivating macro algae in salt water.I was skeptical of using any kind of submersible pump, but these things proved their mettle. The strainer kept almost all detritus out of the impeller housing, and the pump was able to spit out the majority of what got in. On those rare occasions when the mats of algae were too dense and would jam a pump, clearing them was merely a matter of minutes and the pump was back in operation.Reliability wise, these pumps ran in quite possibly the worst environments possible, and they all lasted well over a year with non-stop operation. I'm sure if we had planned routine maintenance cycles on these pumps and cleared jams more often they would all still be running at 100.
