Mission: Deaf Dogs Rock, Inc is a non-profit corporation formed in 2012 in the state of Virginia. The mission of Deaf Dogs Rock is to advocate for deaf dogs, assist in rescue by sponsoring deaf dogs and puppies into partner rescues, promote positive reinforcement training, and the care and well being of deaf dogs. We also promote the stories of successful adoption and extraordinary deaf dogs and their families. This charitable and educational purpose is done through the education of the public regarding the adoption, care, and training of deaf dogs, and through financial support of the shelter, medical, and transportation needs of deaf dogs. Additionally, Deaf Dogs Rock is a national resource for information serving perspective and current deaf dog owners, and networking the deaf shelter/rescue dogs available for adoption. To further these purposes Deaf Dogs Rock undertakes activities including fund raising, sponsoring deaf dogs into rescue, education, networking of adoptable deaf dogs looking for new homes, DDR community building, and financial support for additional needs of deaf dogs (usually vetting/spay/neuter). All of the following activities are currently underway and will continue for the foreseeable future. At this time these activities are done year round by members of the board of directors and other organizationvolunteers.

Target demographics: A community of deaf dog lovers, rescue advocates, partner rescues and their dogs that is 62,000+ strong.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 150+ deaf dogs sponsored and over 400+ adopted off our website each year

Geographic areas served: Deaf Dog Advocacy, Facilitating deaf dog rescue through networking and financial sponsorship, Education through digital media, assisting deaf dog families globally

Programs: Our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Program which offers financial sponsorships to partner organizations such as rescues/shelters to help deaf dogs to safety. Our support allows rescue partners the financial support to take in to foster care deaf dogs for vetting, training, and matching each deaf dog with a new loving home. Deaf Dogs Rock also offers the on-line educational resources for deaf dog families and for shelter staff/volunteers to teach them that a deaf dog is not that much different than a hearing dog with the exception of a few small tweaks to their training. Deaf Dogs Rock offers on line deaf dog training information to help them understand a deaf dog is not that much different than a hearing dog. Most donations go directly towards financial sponsorship of deaf dogs/puppies out of kill shelters into the safe harbor of rescue. The funds are used by partner rescues to vet each deaf dog (spay/neuter) to get them ready for adoption while they are in training in their new foster homes. We also help out our local rescue partners with providing much needed supplies such as dog food and blankets. Deaf Dogs Rock does hundreds of rescue transports up and down the East Coast, including helping partner rescues transport urgent shelter dogs into rescue (before their time is up).
