Mission: Delaware greenways is a non-profit corporation dedicated to creating outdoor connections for active living and healthy eating. Delaware greenways helps to create and preserve trails & pathways, scenic byways and historic penn farm.

Programs: Trails and pathways: dgi continued to advocate for the expansion of multimodal networks and to promote the use of delaware's outdoor resources. Completed a 12-month planning grant to advance a northern delaware trail network, and was successful in securing a two-year grant to begin work to implement plans from the study. Initiated and led a collaborative effort of area non-profit organizations to plan a celebration of the completion of the wilmington - new castle trail in summer 2018.(continued on schedule o)a stakeholder in trail development projects in northern new castle county and eastern sussex county.

scenic and historic byways: the organization continued its leadership role in the development and management of scenic and historic byways in delaware with projects that protect and enhance the cultural, natural and historic road corridors of the brandywine valley national scenic byway, delaware's bayshore byway and the lewes historic byway.

historic penn farm: the transformation of this 112-acre site into a bio-diverse, productive farm that inspires and educates the community towards healthier lifestyles continued in 2017.Colonial school district continued to expand the state's largest farm to school program increasing its acreage on the property to 8 acres, and harvesting more than 15,000 pounds of fresh produce. Colonial school district continued to hold bi-annual penn farm days bringing 8th graders from district schools to the property for an introduction into agriculture based curriculum choices at william penn high school. (continued on schedule o)ffa groups continued to hold celebrations in the barn. Wheely's at the farm stand opened in the summer of 2017 bringing a locally managed produce stand/caf to the property2017 brought a second successful season using the barn as a rental venue for events. The farm once again hosted students from tall oaks school for a day of service, university of delaware horticulture students donated their time to improving the homestead area and once again the boy scouts enjoyed the property for a week long day camp.
