Gorgeous tabletop plaque is decorated at base with three crosses, a crown of thorns, and three exquisite dogwood blooms. These blooms are said to be richly symbolic of the crucifixion of Jesus. Engraved with a dogwood bloom pattern and the poem A Dogwood Legend. Size of plaque is 6 1/2" high, 4 3/4" wide, 1 3/4" deep at base. Made of resin. Text of poem: Of all the trees the Romans chose, the famous ancient legend goes, they used your limbs to Crucify the Son of God, which made you cry. And right before the Roman's eyes they watched Him cut you down in size; but legend has it every spring you bloom in honor of this King. Your pure white flowers form a cross adorned with blood stained speckled dots; Your center bears a crown of thorns, just like the one that Jesus wore.
