SO EXCITED WE WERE TOLD THAT YOU HAD TO USE THE DIRECT TV REMOTE AND SOUND BAR REMOTE FOR THEM TO BOTH WORK with smart tv. However, when we got this new remote it did it ALL in this one remote. Just this remote worked with our smart tv with sound bar and direct tv; so happy!!

I see absolutely no difference between the vendor-issued remote and this replacement - except it was half of the cost, of course! Relatively easy to program, too.

Be sure to purchase a remote with Radio Frequency (RF) capabilities like this one has. Other remotes only have INFRARED (IF) capabilities thus making it almost impossible to program. RF makes programing super quick and easy.

This remote control has a bad habit of the back cover (over the batteries) when hit lightly, falling off. I wish there was a clamp or a way to secure it onto the remote control.
