Mission: DASH is an innovator in providing access to safe housing and services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families as they rebuild their lives on their own terms.

Results: DASH is the largest provider of safe housing and services in Washington, DC and is a local leader in providing trauma-informed and voluntary services programs.

Target demographics: survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families who need access to safe housing in order to live safely away from the threat of violence.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Last year, DASH safely housed 323 individuals (128 adults and 195 children) in our emergency-to-transitional and permanent safe housing programs, providing over 100,000 safe nights for families away from the threat of violence. Our community housing staff conducted 49 weekly walk-in clinics and educated 727 survivors about housing protections afforded to victims under local and federal law.

Programs: Our unique continuum of programs provide emergency to transitional, and permanent safe housing programs and services for survivors and their families to live safely and independtenly away from the threat of violence. Our Survivor Resilience Fund provides emergency financial assistance to help survivors maintain their current housing and preventing homelessness. We also host a weekly clinic in the community available to all survivors to provide advocacy and resources.
