Great pie iron. We tried a couple recipes. Turnover kits from pillsbury Street taco shells with turkey/cheese inside Little can biscuits cooked as is. All of them were delicious. The biscuits cooked perfect for camping gravy and biscuits and the sandwiches were great for a lunch. The only problem with the turnovers is we couldn't make them fast enough haha. Too many campers. We will consider taking a second set of irons next time.

Product is heavy duty and of great quality. Would highly recommend and make another purchase if needing one. Season with oil just like any Cast-Iron product before use and this will last for YEARS!!!!

We bought a pie iron from Wal-Mart only to find out that it was cheap and thin. We were afraid that it wouldn't even make it through one time on the fire. So we looked for a 34;real34; pie iron. This is the real deal. It is very heavy, but that is because it is made out of superior material. Our first fire and it cooked everything so perfect. It is so great to be able to eat with him instead of having sandwiches be done at two separate times. Like I said, it may be heavy, but it is definitely worth it as it cooks great.

This mountain pie maker has been a camping game changer! There are so many different things you can make with this! I wowed all my friends with mini pizzas and mini hot apple pies last time we camped. The mountain pie pan is cast iron and comes attached to a long handle so you don’t have to get too close to the fire. I liked to warm my pan up and then put a little butter in to coat the inside. Then I place my bread in the bottom and whatever filling I want then the top bread and close. I like to rotate my pie Every min so it won’t burn or stick to the pan. I have had such a success with these I’m going to buy them for my camping friends for Christmas this year.

this is our third one--one for me ,one for the wife and a spare for friends .wish they were made in the USA but not so. I even use mine on the home gas range during the winter.

Heavy cast pie irons, not the cheap lightweight junk found in some 34;sporting goods34; stores locally. Endless options for camping food. Will buy again when I need to expand the collection

My husband makes the bomb campfire hash browns with this pie iron. You can do so many different things with it. It's definitely a nice luxury item to take along on a camping trip.

We are very pleased with this product. It works as expected. It is very solid and well made. Great for campfire meals. I like the double pie feature. I fed my family of 5 in 20 minutes. Easy and fun and great price.

Heavy duty. Takes a little extra time to cook but live the fact that it's cast iron. It won't fit two full slices of normal size bread, but the bread I used was smaller and for perfect putting two side by side.

Love these pie irons. Great for cooking on stovetop, gas grill, or open fire. All sorts of dessert, sandwich, and ever casserole ideas all over the internet. You could watch youtube videos for days but our favorite is a simple crescent roll base with cherry pie and marshmallow fluff filling. For this double iron the handles are pinned so they are not easily removable but they do not rotate when flipping the iron so it's more of a pro than a con.
