Fell apart after single use. The glue on the wooden handle did not hold up at all.

Defective product. We purchased this model 1605 in Aug 2016 and have only used it about 6 times. Just recently, one of the irons fell off of the shaft while in use and very hot. Almost landed in my lap. With toddlers present and not prepared to grab the broken iron off the dirt, it was pretty dangerous for everyone. Not sure if the set screw fell out or was just never installed by manufacturer.

Way too heavy (even for adult male) to use safely.

The handles bent with the first wood fire. The older Rome pie iron was fine. Very disappointed in this one,be careful they are not made like the older ones. This iron was seasoned 4 times before using

Not a double but extra wide. After taking the time to season it, it still chared. Go for the smaller one.

Metal head where the sandwiches go is made of solid heavy iron. The shaft is cheap, thin and weak and bends under the weight. I have to lie it on a rock because it cannot support the weight of the heavy iron head. It's inevitable that it will bend beyond use or break entirely in a short time. Same issue with the double burger maker Rome sells.

What the heck? No center divider? Well this is going back! Who wants a mountain pie with all the guts sliding out one side like an episode of The Walking Dead? Sorry double pie iron, more like double disappointment.
