My father-in-law is staying with us and has some trouble with his eyesight. My wife was concerned that he could fall down the (hardwood) stairs in the morning due to low visibility, so she put some random tape on the floor to mark the bottom of the steps. The tape turned out to be mounting tape for picture frames and was absolutely terrible to remove from the floor. After that, I started looking for a tape meant for floors that wouldn't damage hardwood, and this fit perfectly. (Basketball courts! Why didn't I think of that before!)The yellow color has decent visibility (though something reflective might be better). But better is the fact that it is easy to put down and to take off again. The adhesion is great so far -- it's been a couple months with no sign of peeling, sliding, or tearing. The backing is rubbery, so I'm pretty confident that when it does eventually fail I'll be able to peel it off easily and replace it. I only needed to use about six feet to mark both the top and bottom of the stairs, so the roll will last a long time. And it's pretty inexpensive compared to some other specialty floor tapes I've seen on here. So, I know I have kind of an unusual use case, but this tape has worked really well so far.
