Mission: To develop and implement tools & technology to empower brain cancer researchers to collaborate more effectively. We are developing the world’s only non-profit, open access, database of children’s genomic brain tumor information. Our goal is to create high quality data and work with researchers to move and collate existing data to the open-access platform, thereby creating the largest and most current pediatric cancer genomic data bank in the world. We are collaborating to find a path to the cure.

Results: We have formed a collaboration with the Children's Brain Tumor Tissue Consortium, which is comprised of top pediatric hospitals in the US and around the world. Through funding and advocacy, we have helped establish Cavatica. org, an open access database of children’s genomic brain tumor information. The website opened to everyone in late 2016 for pediatric brain cancer research. The current goals are to increase researcher usage and add more complete data sets to empower their research. We are also providing funding for Open DIPG, an innovative project seeking to more efficiently and effectively direct patients onto clinical trials based on their unique genomic data.

Target demographics: cancer researchers

Direct beneficiaries per year: fund the alpha test for the Cavatica. org website that allows cancer researchers to work on open access data in the cloud.

Geographic areas served: the United States and beyond

Programs: a sustainable, ongoing database and research platform for researchers across disciplines to analyze genomic tumor information, as well as ongoing clinical data, in hopes of accelerating scientific advances for cancer and other diseases.
