Mission: Drawing Dreams is an ten-year old California-based nonprofit organization that donates art supplies and children's books to hospitalized children through children's hospitals' Artist-in-Residence and Child Life programs in the United States, Canada and Italy. Through our arrangements with manufacturers and suppliers of artists' materials for children we are able to purchase art supplies at cost or below wholesale and distribute them to hospitals. Some of these materials are given to hospitalized children as birthday, holiday gifts, or as departing gifts when they leave the hospital. But most are used for in-care therapy, "a powerful tool for our young patients in coping with and processing their hospital experience, " as one of our hospital's art therapists put it. Our goal is to increase our giving to include hospitals in all fifty states as well as abroad, and to inspire artists everywhere to donate their talent and time at local children's hospitals. Our work is funded by the auction of art, photography and luxury travel packages donated by supporters of our mission and by contributions from individuals, corporations, trusts and foundations. Drawing Dreams is a 501c(3) public charity registered with the State of California Office of the Attorney General Registry of Charitable Trusts. Our tax ID number is 26-3917721.
