I think it's kind of hard to mess up arrowroot powder, so this product is fine and suits my needs. The only thing I really don't like about it is the resealable zipper is very hard to use. I usually have to clean any powder out of the creases and then try to seal it for 3 minutes before being successful. I will probably end up buying a canister to dump it into so that I don't have to store it in the bag anymore.

I am new to canning and wanted to can some peach pie filling. Watching several youtube videos on the subject, many people used Clear Jel for a thickener. But someone mentioned they used Arrowroot instead. They also said it will not go bad like some other thickeners....cornstarch for example. I believe I saw in the USDA guide (check me on that) said you can use Arrowroot in equal amounts in place of Clear Jel. With Arrowroot being cheaper I opted to purchase it. Also, the Clear Jel was out of stock at the time. Since then I have purchased the Clear Jel and the next canning session I may use it just to compare the difference in the two products. I use this to make lotions and deodorant. Very happy with the product. Plus you gets tons. 4lbs is ALOT. I honestly wasn't expecting the bag to be so big. Great value

My recipe called for 2 tablespoons of arrowroot flour. I was not expecting a 4pound bag of flour. My bad if I did not read the package details. Now I need to buy a book on cooking and other uses for this much Flour!
