Genuine Dyson. Had to trim round tip off one side because my model has it straight. If only the vacuum had model number written somewhere it would be a lot better.

I've had my Dyson Animal D25 for over ten years. I love it. What I love most about it is that I've been able to repair every issue I've had with exceptional ease. I thought I was going to have to replace the entire hose for this one little catch tool, but I saved about $50 by only buying this little button. Thank you, Dyson!

Able to easily install with the spring(ordered separately). With a little pressure, snapped into place on the stick with ease and is now working perfectly. No more losing the vacuum head while moving about.

Works for the V6. It is a pain to get in but not as hard as other reviews make it seem. Just wedge it with a screwdriver. It is pricey for what it is but oh well. They sent me 2.

This button broke on the handheld vacuum and I was super upset as I didn't want to invest anymore $$ on this vacuum! I thought I was going to have to purchase a whole new dust bin. I have already replaced the cyclone for that button breaking. Luckily I found this item just before making the purchase of the canister and now for $7 we have a working vacuum!!!! What a relief!! Thanks!

Was a little hard to squeeze the sides in the slots for fear of breaking the tabs but all worked out good. Glad I only had to buy the button

The button on the right is the new one next to the button it's replacing. It's a genuine Dyson part. I had it installed five minutes after opening the package. Make sure to order the spring too if you need it as it's not included. Helpful hint: Use a piece of dental floss to compress the spring against the inside of the button around its little nipple mount then gently push one side then the other into the mounting recess until it clicks then slip the floss out.

Don't know why this piece of plastic would be so pricey, but it's Dyson I guess.We luckily didn't lose the spring else we'd be out a few more bucks, and it took a bit of muscling to get back into place, to the point where I was afraid of breaking it again, but at least Dyson offers a part replacement, otherwise we'd have had to resort to cannibalizing our other attachments.

It's not exactly the same like the original part, it's smaller... It still works but hopefully will last. Very expensive for a piece of plastic...
