Fits my DC65 just fine. The adhesive side goes toward the machine not the hose. I think this is strange because the surface on which it installs is discontinuous. Probably the reason the original one disappeared due to lack of adhesion. Can't blame the part, blame the design of the machine.

This was a great replacement for the old gasket that had gotten messed up from a lot of use. When we bought a new hose for our dyson we replaced this gasket also, it made big difference with the suction.
