Mission: To serve as an inclusive platform that supports the richly complex cultural diversity that informs east hawaii through exhibition, performance, workshop, and creative inquiry. To remain a vibrant gathering place for art and culture, that is available to the ever-evolving voices in our community. We are committed to a dual obligation that values work - to maintain the highest possible standards for presentation and attention to the artistic perceptions expressed by all of the people in our geographic community. We believe this combination creates opportunity for inspired dialogue, and appreciation for performance, presentation, and engagement with both local and visiting artists. We are culturally and socially inclusive; supporting host culture and other voices in our community. Our goal is to inspire wonder, curiosity, new ways of thinking, and civic action as pathway toward building a sustainable, healthy, and generative community that will rally in support of ehcc arts programming.

Programs: Partnership with pacific performing arts center provides classes in children's chorus and acting. Our youth art series includes a spring art institute and summer art institute in which youth between ages 8-14.Receive instruction in cultural, traditional, and contemporary arts the non-toxic community print studio, piko press, supports the emerging artist sustainability education program (ease) and community. The studio provides an etching press, non-toxic printmaking supplies, and workshops for community use in an environmentally safe and conscious working space.

with sixteen community partnerships and uh hilo we provide a variety of programs which achieve multicultural-social representation exhibits since july 2017 have included: summerai hilo faculty show, serenely proliferating solo exhibition kaori ukaji, hawaii contemporary art exhibition, flight paths solo print exhibition charles cohan, upcycle. 17, first annual big island clay exhibition, global metaphysics group exhibition, annual young at art program held over the last 3 decades that exhibits art from hundreds of children from kindergarten through 12th grade. Participants hail from dozens of schools in east hawaii, loli'ana native hawaiian art exhibition, outlook group photography exhibition.

ehcc hosts contemporary art exhibits from east hawaii, the entire big island, as well as mainland and outer island artists. Ehcc works with orchid isle orchesta and a range of contemporary artists, performers and craftsmen, including aloha first fridays - alchemy of aloha.
