Through its programs, EPI provides students and teachers from the US and Latin America the opportunity to participate in real scientific research & conservation projects, inspiring them to preserve and protect the natural world.

Target demographics: Middle school, high school, and college students and educators with special emphasis on youth that reside near our program sites.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 5,300

Geographic areas served: Belize, Costa Rica, Galapagos Islands, Mexico, and Yellowstone

Programs: EPI operates field science programs for students and professional development programs for science teachers. We operate at field sites in Baja, Belize, Costa Rica, the Galapagos, and Yellowstone National Park. By engaging participants from Latin America and the U. S. in hands-on collaborative science and conservation projects that protect species and habitat in five countries, EPI bridges the gap between cultures and empowers the next generation of conservation leaders. EPI's programs make a difference in the world one student at a time, fostering personal transformation of our participants as they reconnect with the land and each other through our science and conservation projects. EPI's vision is to create an ecologically literate society where the world's youth are empowered to take an active role in conservation.
