I'm a 34 waist and I had to return the shorts and get 36. Those fit good and are comfortable. One the same order I two different Levi's shorts in 34 and they were fine.The Docker though are definitely sizes Small.

I really like the mobile-phone pocket (they call it a security pocket). They are a little loose fitting on my waist, so a belt is mandatory. Length is good, hits me just above the knee.

Ordered two pair in size 32. One colored New British Khaki fit perfectly. The other colored Sand Dune was slightly larger overall and one inch longer than the first. It was close enough to wear so I did not return them.
