Great unit for setting carbs mixture and idle. Little bit of lag on refresh rate but functional enough for task at hand! For the price you cant go wrong!

Works very well, easy to use. i got concerned about a slow refresh rate and the fact that it store the last read rpm. Got used to both and love it

Works great for most gas tools. Tried it on my older model poulan av2300 chain saw but could not get a decent reading. Sparkplug is located very close to the muffler. That could be the problem with trying to attach the cable or using the cordless sensor.

This allowed me to set the proper RPM on my Husqvarna trimmer. Setting it by ear is not as easy as it might seem. Plus if you are wrong you could burn up your motor, and how much will that cost you? There is a slight delay on the readout, but just hold the throttle open for 1.5 second to get the inital reading and make whatever adjustment you need for the high setting. Then wait another 1.5 second to check that the setting is where you want it to be. Setting the low side is even easier. Very easy to use, and it seems to be a quality unit. There are instructions included for calibrating 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8 cylinder engines. Also for selecting 2 or 4 stroke. I think Triumph motorcycles made a 3 cylinder. My trimmer has not ran this good in years.

I purchased this for tuning small engines, Lawn Mower, Snow Blower and Chainsaws. The most important thing before you use this is read the manual, then read it again, put the battery in the unit and read the manual again. The manual is short but missing the fine details are what will give you issues with this product. The available modes give you several options for testing different engines in different configurations. For most of your smaller 4 stroke engines (Lawn mower/ Snow blower) you???re going to use the 2 stroke: 1 cylinder mode. This is because the configuration of the Flywheel (Magneto) ignition system causes the reading to be off if you select the 4 stroke: 1 cylinder mode. I was able to test and verify the accuracy of my unit using a code scanner in live data mode and connecting this to the engine of an older GM engine, my unit appears accurate - 2 RPM. Using the 4 cycle: 1 cylinder mode connecting the inductive wire to the plug wire I got a RPM reading that matched the code scanner. Testing the other modes by connecting the inductive lead to the coil wire before the distributor and setting the Tach to 4 cycle: 6 cylinder I also got a RPM reading that was close to matching what the Vehicles computer was reporting the RPM as. In the end this will do what I need, it???s a relatively inexpensive tachometer; its refresh rate is a little slow but I'm not going for super fine detail, my goal is to get close the manufactures specifications.

Very easy to use tachometer, have non contact option is an added bonus. Read the manual, and make sure you know the correct cylinder/stroke settings to use, especially for scooter and motorcycle diagnostics. See video below for actual demo of the tachometer in use when I'm adjusting idle speed of my scooter.

Works as intended I've used it on my chainsaw, twin cylinder garden tractor, and my V8 truck with both antenna and wireless, the readings were just a couple rpm's different. I purchased a refurbished unit to save some money. In my opinion this reader is well worth the money and very easy to use.

I needed a tachometer to adjust the idle on a new Honda 8 HP outboard I bought. I looked for my old tachaometer which was circa 1980 and it was not going to do the job anymore with the HEI ignitions. This little device worked great for my application at least - it gave nice accurate, steady readouts either inductively or attached to one of the spark plug wires.
