My kids are having a blast with this and even five months later take it out to explore with it. I got is for a Christmas present for my budding 8YO and he loved putting some of the connections together. Just the other day(end of April), he had said to the 12YO 'do ya wanna put the harder ones together?' and they did. This is one of the best toys I’ve bought for my son. I’ve actually purchased this set about 3 times to give yo other kids. And everyone loves it. My son is 6 and can make the projects. I think if your child can read if shouldn’t be too difficult for them.

excellent electronic kit - my son is mildly autistic this is the first 34;non-technical34; item I have ever seen him work with for over 1/2 an hour - most of his entertainment comes in the form of video games, phones, etc. but this was a real breakthrough for him - the directions are very easy to follow all of the parts are self contained segments that simply plug into the clear base - connect them together and you have an active light with switch or use the speaker and you get the electronic birthday song - add the sound modifier thingy you get alien sounds - use the other modifier thingy and you can change the sound with your finger - highly recommended for first time electronic testers -
