Mission: The elizabeth glaser pediatric aids foundation (egpaf) is the global leader in the fight against pediatric hiv/aids and has reached nearly 27 pregnant million women with services to prevent transmission of hiv to their babies. Egpaf currently supports activities in 19 countries and at more than 5,000 sites to implement prevention, care, and treatment services; to further advance innovative research; and to execute global advocacy activities that bring dramatic change to the lives of millions of women, children, and families worldwide.

Programs: Egpaf works with public and private partners to support to the provision and expansion of hiv prevention, care, and treatment to all children, women, and families affected by hiv in order to achieve and sustain an aids-free generation. Strengthening health systems, and integrating hiv services with primary health care services, particularly maternal and child health services, is critical to achieving this goal. The success of egpafs efforts demonstrates that we are on the cusp of eliminating mother-to-child transmission of hiv globally.

egpaf plays a critical role in both defining the pediatric aids research agenda and supporting and conducting research to improve the lives of women, children, and families affected by hiv. Egpaf leads studies in clinical, laboratory, and implementations science research. Its focus is optimizing health service delivery; building an evidence base for new and innovative interventions; and effectively scaling up promising hiv and maternal, newborn, and child health interventions.

egpaf's public policy and advocacy team builds on elizabeth glaser's legacy of fighting for the best policies for women, children, and families living with and affected by hiv. With staff on four continents, egpaf is well positioned to champion children's rights in several realms-including those of national governments, african regional bodies, and multilateral organizations-to produce victories for children.
