Product labeled Made in China and named Pacific however, it is from a seaweed farm in Shandong waters - known to contain high levels of toxins and drug residue. Beware.

I wanted to make my own wakame salad, since the commercial brand available comes from Asia, and has food coloring in it -- and is triple or more the price than making it yourself! I'm guessing that the amount hydrated wakame from the package equals about 1.5 quarts - I covered it with warm water, and it immediately absorbed it all and asked for more; did this 2-3 times until it stopped expanding. There are plenty of online recipes for the Asian dressing that turns it into a great salad. I could wish that there was a shredded variety, but the hydrated product is delicate enough for a salad, and I probably could slash it up into smaller pieces if motivated. It grows on the rocky seashore here in California, and occasionally I grab some off the rock for a salty snack. The flavor of this product is just as fresh!I just realized that this product comes from China, not the US -- while it is delicious, I worry about where in China it is harvested, since seaweed can absorb harmful substances in polluted waters, and there is no quality control indicated on the package...

This Wakame was so fresh and clean, a very bright green color when put in water, a great flavor and not too tough or too soft. It had a perfect chew. I've always ordered Wakame from macrobiotic companies with high standards, but this is the best I've ever eaten.

I got this so that I could make poke at home. What a great product! Rehydrates quickly and has a wonderful flavor. It was perfect in my dish. I would've posted a pic, but we tore through it ;D

I've bought seaweed from this brand for almost a decade as their products are reasonably priced and consistent quality. I love this wakame in miso soup. I've been meaning to try it in other dishes, too. Great taste.

In the future, I'll cut back on amount used. I would dehydrate 1 cup instead of entire bag. Ultimately, makes 5 times what I thought. More bang for your buck!

This product is FANTASTIC! Super value for the cost. Delicious seaweed. Rehydrates to about 4x volume dry to wet. I rehydrate for a few moments in hot water then rinse with cold. Holds it's texture without getting mushy. I add it to soups, salads, sandwiches. Love to make a batch in a pickling brine - keeps for at least three weeks in the fridge this way - but usually lasts less than that. (choose your vinegar - I like balsamic mixed with unfiltered apple cider vinegar - a splash of water -- 5 parts vinegar to 1 part water -- add some brown mustard (to taste), toss in some dry minced onion, garlic powder, and sesame seeds. Easy! Delicious!). PLEASE keep selling this seaweed as is - you've got a lifelong customer in me!!

The best part of miso soup is the wakame but they never put enough in. I keep a bag of this around and when we order Japanese food delivery, I bulk up the miso soup with this seaweed and it makes it so much better. I wait until about 15 minutes before delivery time, pour over boiling water, and let it sit. When the soup arrives, I drain the wakame and add it in. This brand has been delicious and very consistent.

I started using this product after considering moving to tokyo for a short time. I got interested in japanese cuisine. I use this wakame in a chicken broth soup with fish flakes, cod and arrabiatta marina spice which is spicy. I cut up one avocado and place it in the soup after I'm done cooking it. Great healthy meal. very filling. the wakame expands and shouldn't be overcooked to maintain it's nutritional value. kinda expensive, however you don't need much of it in a serving because it expands

I take a scoop, put in a jar with water and keep in the frig. It expands a great deal so know that! When wet, it stays fresh at least a week.
