Some reviewer hit the nail on the head, this speaker is close to Celestion V30s but less harsh. Well said!!! From personal experience I just don't care for the V30s much. For a while I have been on the search for my perfect cab.I believe you have to mix speakers to achieve an ultimate tone. No speaker is perfect and a 4x12 cab full of the exact same speaker is always going to have weak points IMO. My cab contains the Governor, a Man o War, and 2 Celestion GT75s. The Man O War is my highs, my GT75s are my mids, and the Governor is my lows. Thats how I like it, well rounded. I love my cab and wouldn't trade if for the world. Some may argue that you are going to only mic 1 speaker at a time. Maybe live (for the record if the sound man ever insists on micing just one speaker I make him put the mic on the Governor), but if you distant mic the cab for a recording, its A+!The Governor is punchy and clear. After breaking it in its a great sounding speaker that has been able to handle tons of abuse with ease. I had never tried Eminence speakers before and I must say my first buys with them were all incredible. I would highly suggest The Governor paired with a Man O War. A totally winning combo.Trust in Eminence. My experience with them so far has been wonderful. I was surprised I hadn't heard more about these speakers before. I still like Celestion, both they and Eminence make an amazing product, but I just think Eminence suits my needs a little beter.

I have this speaker in all my speaker cabs. I have one 2-12 CAA cab, two 1-12 CAA cabs with them in there. These Eminence Governers, I feel are the best speakers out there. I love the tone I get. Kind of like the Celestion V30s, but alot less harsh to the ears I think....
