Just beauty in my hand.I was surprised that there were some imperfect finishing though;Some burrs and some poor grindings on it.But still, it feels and looks good

My grandfather gave his leather Estwing to my father in the early 60s, and he gave it to me in 2004. Such a comfortable and balanced hammer. Just had to get another cause I'm afraid of loosing the good one! Brother, this new one feels awesome too!

I used an Estwing rig axe to frame houses,etc... when I was younger. I now treated myself to this beauty for DIY trim workshop jobs. My son/ grandson will be using both when I am long gone. Great tools and USA made.

I usually buy the ones with the blue rubber grip, but I've always thought this handle looked great. It's somewhat nostalgic, and very comfortable once you use it for a while.. I like everything about this hammer, and like I said. This was a replacement for one I left on a job. It feels like a familiar, old friend. In my 30 years of custom carpentry I use a variety of hammers, and have 3 sizes / weights of this one. Personally I wouldn't want to use another brand, but hey, that's my take. Hope you find this helpful!

Well made and the finish is excellent. The balance of the hammer is good and the handle gives you a good feel of where the hammer head is when delivering a blow. I do like well built tools and this is one.

Despite being made of steel, this hammer has a balance wegthed towards the head, yielding more impact for its weight than a hammer with more eight towards the handle. This helps to drive nailes with less force, and absorb more of the impact leaving less wear and tear on the elbow. When I was younger I used a heavier Estwing (20oz) but as I pass 70 and do not hammer all day, I like the 1g oz better. This is the knd of tool you can use for a liftime and then pass on to a daughter or son. Aside from its objective quality, it just gives you pleasure when you hold it. There is something about a top line tool.

This is a great hammer with a classic look. One of the last companies still manufacturing their product in the USA. You can buy cheaper, but this is a quality American product made by American workers.

Wanted a lighter hammer for the shop as I generally drive finish nails and smaller fasteners. I tend to choke up on my big hammer most of the time so the shorter handle works well for me. It's a nice hammer, well designed and constructed. And it's made in the USA! I have no doubt this hammer will be around a long time. I may go ahead and order a big boy too.
