Mission: The lives of millions of African children have been devastated by war, disease, poverty and injustice. Every Child Ministries seeks to accomplish its purpose by providing direct compassionate aid to abandoned and needy children, providing training and teaching materials to African churches, enabling them to establish and strengthen Sunday schools and other youth ministries, offering Bible teaching in the schools, and providing assistance to war-affected children, and providing training and mentoring for African school teachers. Every Child Ministries was founded in 1985 after John and Lorella Rouster saw children forcibly expelled from churches because there was insufficient room to seat children and adults at the same time, and because the churches had no idea how to teach the children separately. Our programs have expanded to meet many needs of vulnerable African children. ECM is especially committed to children normally marginalized by society.

Results: Since 1985, thousands of children have been either directly or indirectly supported by sponsors and donors through ECM's outreach; a large amount of supplies and materials have been shipped; hundreds of thousands of meals have been provided to children; sponsorship projects (Hope Centers) have been started, along with a discipleship & training center; more than a hundred homes for grandmothers raising their orphaned grandchildren have been completed, along with classrooms and other structures for schooling; sustainability projects have been started to help local ministry; and hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours have been logged.

Target demographics: Orphans and vulnerable children and youth (birth to 20 years) in Africa, specifically in Ghana, DR Congo, and Uganda. We seek to help outcast children who are rejected, forgotten or neglected by society at large.

Direct beneficiaries per year: By our estimates, ECM programs reach over 200,000 children annually

Geographic areas served: DR Congo, Ghana, Uganda
