Mission: OUR MISSION is to stop the discriminatory killing of FIV cats, support FIV supporters, and create a healthy, humane, and permanent solution for all cats. Our focus is on:1.EDUCATING vets, animal rescues and shelters, and the public about FIV in order to increase awareness and change public perception. 2.ADVOCATING for their protection from arbitrary killing in the shelter systems3.SAVING LIVES by helping people find homes for homeless FIV cats, support TNR efforts, and promote spay and neuter. To accomplish these goals, we:1.Work with researchers to create and distribute FIV educational materials to vets, shelters and the general public. 2.Create and maintain a public database of shelters, rescues and sanctuaries that accept FIV cats. 3.Provide rescuers and caregivers the tools they need to help stop the killing of FIV cats. 4.Help people trying to save single FIV cats. 5.Educate the public about FIV. 6.Promote spay-and-neuter option to reduce cat over-population, spread of FIV, and euthanasia.

Results: ~ Created educational materials to educate vets, shelters and the general public about FIV and how testing positive for FIV antibodies is not and should not be a death sentence; that most FIV cats live long, healthy lives. And that most die from age-related or secondary diseases. ~ Created a database of Rescues that take FIV Cats to assist rescuers and shelters find rescues dedicated to caring for and finding homes for FIV cats. ~ Saved hundreds of FIV cat lives worldwide directly through emails, Facebook, articles and social media. ~ Assisted volunteers to get their shelters to accept FIV cats. ~ Consulted with new rescues and shelters about FIV cats. ~ Educated thousands of people through our educational flyers and websites.
