Causes: Children & Youth, Youth Development, Youth Development Programs

Mission: To provide children with high quality education, recreational, and family support services that foster positive physical, emotional, social, cognitive growth, and development.

Results: 93% of our children ages 3-5 were ready to start Kindergarten. 99% of our children who attended the Youth Zone ages 4-12 were promoted to the next grade. 99% of our High School Students graduated and go on to a four years college.

Target demographics: children to succeed in school and become responsible adults and giving back to their respected community.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 531 low income children ages 3-18 met their academic goals for last school year.

Geographic areas served: providing children with quality education, recreational and family support services that foster positive physical, social, emotional, cognitive growth, and development.

Programs: Early Childhood Academy/Kids Zones serves fifty low income children ages 3-5 located at the historic Osborne School in Lake Worth, Fl. This was the only elementary school where minority children could obtain an education during the segregated years. The Youth Zone serves a daily average of hundred fifteen children ages 4-12 at Barton Elementary School. The Youth Empowerment Center /Teen Zone at Howard Park serves a daily average of fifty three middle and high school youth and offers free Academic Enrichment (homework help, small group tutoring in reading, writing, math, and science, community service, job shadowing); Healthy Lifestyles (positive decision-making, fitness, nutrition, body image and awareness). Multicultural Arts Program provides free visual arts and other mixed media art instruction in digital arts, drawing, painting, photography, video production, and performing arts such as modern dance, folklore, Hip Hop, drama, choir and music); and Recreational Activities (soccer, flag football, Martial Arts, volleyball, basketball, gardening, yoga, computer literacy and outings). The Children Community Wellness provides free behavioral , mental health and family support services for low income families with children ages 3-22 residing in Central Palm Beach County.
