Mission: “The Friends of Historical Cherry Hill AUMP, Inc. , is dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of African American life in Baltimore County, Maryland. This preservation will be done by the successful conversion of the abandoned Cherry Hill AUMP Church to a mini-museum that will house old photographs and artifacts of African American life and experiences in Baltimore County, and through partnerships with the Baltimore County Public Schools, African American Churches, and social and civic organizations throughout Baltimore County. Through the resources within the mini-museum, the Friends of Historical Cherry Hill AUMP, Inc. , will offer educational lectures and classes by noted historians of African American life in Baltimore County, and other significant historians. The Friends of Historical Cherry Hill AUMP, Inc. , will assist the citizens of Baltimore County, and the State of Maryland in understanding the cultural and historical heritage of the African American life, communities and experiences in Baltimore County. ”

Results: The conversion of the abandoned Cherry Hill AUMP Church is 95% converted to the Diggs/Johnson Mini-Museum. Programs will begin some time during late summer of 2015

Direct beneficiaries per year: Our activities will begin around July/August 2015 when all of the construction work on the conversion of the building is completed.
