Mission: Family advocates works to strengthen families and keep kids safe by empowering everyday people to protect and enrich the lives of youth.
Target demographics: children and families that are affected by the cycle of abuse.
Direct beneficiaries per year: over 700 children.
Geographic areas served: Southwest Idaho
Programs: Family Strengthening Education, works with families to create strong networks and healthy habits through courses, activities, and more. This program engages children and parents in building their Five Protective Factors and solidifying strong and healthy families. The CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program recruits, trains, and supports volunteer child advocates, called Guardians ad Litem, as well as pro-bono attorneys to represent the volunteer, in the Fourth Judicial District (Ada, Boise, Elmore, and Valley Counties). Guardians ad Litem represent children within the foster care system.
