Mission: Family nurturing center provides child abuse treatment, prevention, and education

Programs: Children's services - encompass individual, group and family treatment programs for survivors of childhood abuse and neglect. Child abuse treatment services serves children who have been victims of abuse and their non-offending family members by supporting the entire family and focusing on healing from the inside out. In fy 16-17, this program served 494 children and adults for therapeutic services, and provided 3,300 hours of service. In a survey of children, 75% increased their coping skills after program completion and 85% with mental health needs successfully met treatment objectives/goals. Visits - provides an opportunity for children to visit with non-custodial parents in a safe, supervised setting, and builds the skills needed to enhance healthy family functioning. Clients are referred through hamilton county job and family services. In fy 16-17, our staff supervised 12,000 visitations bringing together 1,860 children and parents. Of these parents, 93% felt the staff believed in them and their success.

The nurturing parenting philosophy is a nationally recognized evidenced-based program where parents and children attend programs together so that all family members can benefit from participation. community education - is focused on educating children and adults on ways to prevent, recognize and react to child abuse. Programs include kids on the block, where life size puppets educate elementary age children how recognize, resist and report child abuse. The bullies and school safety component educates children on bullying, promotes sensitivity towards peers, strategies to make schools safer, and how to cope with bad situations.
