Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: To improve the quality of life for dogs living outdoors by removing chains, building fences, providing shelters, offering spay/neuter, and raising awareness about the physical, mental and emotional needs of dogs and why chaining a dog is inhumane and dangerous.

Results: We start in May 2009 with a goal of unchaining one dog each month. Demand was so overwhelming and the need so great, we unchained 75 in our first year. After a decade in operation, we've unchained over 2,200 dogs. Each do we unchain receives a free fenced yard, an insulated dog house, spay/neuter surgery as needed, and urgent veterinary care as needed.

Direct beneficiaries per year: We unchained 275 dogs in 2019
