So far this little gizmo has worked a treat. None of the problems some other folks have had.Took a chance with the good reviews and like this punch. Easy to handle with the red knob.Designed well for the hand. Marks both wood and metal.

I'm tired of going back and forth to harbor freight with there's that is life time warranty so this one is made to last and so it has and out performs the other by far love it

Got to say that I am very impressed with the quality of this tool. Also, I have found myself using this tool more than I originally thought. Easily makes a guide divit so that your screw or nail goes right where intended. Highly recommended!

I wish it was a little stronger on the highest settings.I need to press it several times to get a good indentation on spot welds on automotive bodywork sheet metal but, it works.

A center punch is essential if you use a drill to mount anything. It marks your place and provides an indentation to start the bit. I used it to mount some cabinet pulls along with a template and it made the job just about perfect, quick and easy. Use it once and you'll never drill without one!

It's a hole punch. Does a great job. The red cushion is a plus in my opinion. I highly recommend it! Will probably order 1 or 2 more just to have them in case.

The 6 inch punch arrived in a Neiko made in Tiawan retail packaging. It Appears to be the real deal. No red cap was included , just the crome tool fully asembled ready to use. No extra tips were included. It took a few trys to figure out how the tool adjustment works.Out of the package the tool if fully tightened down and will not punch. If you loosen the top of the tool, releasing tention on the spring it will punch.It leaves a medium deep defined mark in mild steel and a well defined deep mark in aluminum. The spring is very strong and takes a fair amount of force on your palm to activate. I wish it would have came with the red palm cover. But the retail packaging dosent appear to have it.Overall its a good buy for a known retail tool.

I didn't even know such a tool existed. I've used simple center punches for years. They work just fine. Takes two hands, of course -- one to hold the punch, one to hit the punch with a hammer. Duhh! Then I saw Tommy Silva (This Old House) using a one-handed spring-loaded automatic center punch and immediately bought this one and I love it. I've only used it on wood, so no idea how well it works on metal, but works great on wood. Very satisfied, would buy same one again, gladly recommend to others.
