I bought this because I needed to make a peen mark (a dimple) in an aluminum plate that I screwed a valve into (so it won't back itself out). It's a several-hundred-dollar plate that holds 5000 PSI of pressure, and you're supposed to make the peen with a hammer and a standard punch. Not for me.With this, I was able to very carefully and precisely put a peen right where I wanted it to be. It took like 5 punches (without moving the top), but I've got that valve safely locked in place!Price was solid, build quality seems fine. I do not think this is a high-use-volume tool, but if you only occasionally need a precise hole, I would have no hesitation recommending this tool.

This center punch is very easy to use and makes a good dimple. I have had issues slipping around but I was in an incredibly tight space using a mirror to guide.

Used today to center in a 5mm bolt. Very easy to use, nice comfort end, tension adjustable and looks like will last a really long time.

I use this all the time. It marks metal for welding and places a nice indent when working with wood. Easy to use, even with arthritic hands. The ball handle is big enough to place in the palm and use your body weight instead of hand strength.

I like the large end - it's much more comfortable for making multiple indents than the pen style. It's powerful - came adjusted to maximum force - yet adjustable. So far, so good!
