Once the feeder is set up it seems to work well, but the instructions are lousy. I wanted to have two feeding times and in that section it stated you can chose one, two or three feeding times. However, you are not able to eliminate a feeding time during this programming section, you have to program zero units of feed in the next programming section, and that is not explained anywhere. I am glad I still have hair on my head!

It's a great product. Water proof, but I still cover mine in dark white plastic grocery bag. From rain to keep the hot sun rays away from food. Even though it's semi shaded plastic. Got 3 time slots with extra feed when I want. Eventually the clips do break off from lid, but that's wear tear. I also put brick on top, cuz heavy winds will knock it over.

When I was researching this product someone mentioned to put it in a 5 gallon bucket. Thanks for that idea. Works great and will keep rodents from trying to chew it open to get to the food. So far this product is working perfectly.

Used it once. No issues. Second time to use it...... buttons controlling keypad refused to work. Replaced batteries... Same thing. now the $112 worthless piece of plastic goes in the recycling bin. One would think that a fish pond feeder would have at least a LITTLE RESISTANCE to humidity. BTW, the one time it did work it was covered with a plastic garbage bag, so no rain or water ever got on the feeder. Junk, Junk, Junk!!!

i've had this thing for about 2 years now to feed my koi when i'm out of town. it is nearly impossible to program the first time ... the instructions are equally opaque. the UI is so bad that once to invest enough time to get what you want, i was afraid to make any adjustments for season or any other reason. The worst, however, yesterday it went berserk and emptied all the food in the hopper into the pond. in less than 12 hours, five 24 koi were dead. Obviously no fail safe design. save yourself some aggravation and tears ... buy something else.

This automatic feeder worked well for my small 4' x 8' pond. I have about 20 Shubunkin goldfish in this pond and it has always been a problem finding someone to feed the fish when we are away for an extended period of time. Overall, this feeder seems to be well built and worked as advertised. It was easy to setup and to get programed for the feeding schedule I chose. I watched it for about a week before we left on vacation and it dispensed the fish food right on time with no problems. As other people have said it probably should be mounted on a board, which it is setup to do, because it is fairly light and could be blown over in wind or knocked over by pets. I set a brick on top of it and it stayed in place fine with the extra weight. Other people have said that the latches for the lid will break off over time and I agree that will probably happen because of the way they are constructed, but I don't think that is much of a problem because a weight like the brick I used will easily hold the lid on if the latches should break. Overall I am very happy with this feeder and it solved the problem of feeding our fish when we are away.

Solved a big problem for us....feeding the Koi while away. Has worked flawlessly for first 3 weeks. Not sure about weatherproof/water resistance, since I benefitted from others' reviews and purchased a Lowes/Home Depot bucket et al. system to house the P7000. But from within the sealed bucket, with holes on bottom, spout on top, with feeder tube protruding out the side, it works great.

I cover it with card board box to avoid overheating the unit since it gets very sunny where I am. But it has been working great.

I have an inside pond and so I don't have the problems that other reviewers have with critters bothering the feeder. It works great.

Excellent fish feeder, easy to program and batteries last over a year. I even had a big rat in the yard trying to get to the food and it only had a chance to bite where the food comes out but it did not get to the main camber or damage the dosing mechanism. Easy to disassemble and clean

using to feed fish in one acre fish pond. timer and dispenser works as advertised.

For larger ponds the amount dispensed per feeding is not quite enough.Otherwise this feeder works quite well. Definitely recommend.
