A raccoon was easily able to knock the spout off causing all of the fish food to dump into the pond, wasting all of it. Be sure to reinforce the spout and in my case use a large big box store 5 gallon bucket to cover the entire unit so not to as easily attract hungry critters.

Would have given it 5 stars if it was waterproof dispensed a little less food when set to lowest setting. The 2 prior feeders ended up being immersed with water became inoperative. I bolted this one down to a long piece of lumber, so hopefully thrd times a charm

I really liked this auto fish feeder as this worked great n provided food to my fish pond while I was away for one month. I set this up for two times per day morning n evening. Also added extra cover with Home Depot bucket ( made a square small cut for nozzle to come out) and placed on the wooden plank. I was really happy to see my fishes well and fish food was almost empty in the auto feeder. I hope this help. Let me know if anyone has any question.

This feeder worked nicely until it fell in the water and got ruined. The top part doesn't connect or snap to the bottom, so I put two large slate rocks on top to keep it sturdy, so squirrels won't jump on it and push it over. This worked for a month or so. Don't know how to really rate it - it works, but it's kind of useless at the same time. I'll look into one that hangs instead.

Easy-enough to set up and program, but I was concerned about the loose connection of the hopper to the base. The base was easy to secure, but I felt raccoons would easily be able to knock the hopper off the base, so I solved the problem (fingers crossed) by strapping the hopper to the mount with an adjustable nylon strap. Haven't had any weather to worry about except high heat, so I'm concerned about the electronics. We'll see if it holds up over the coming several days of 100F temps.

After two months of purchase I have to say it was a must buy item for my koi pond. It's work as it was it intended to do. Real test was when I went for 10 days vacations and comeback still see my koi still alive and well feeds and happy.

The fish feeder works well. Placed it by the pond and it pushes out the feed pellets as designed for 10 gold fish. The instructions state a 1 setting is a tablespoon. However it appeared to be two or three tablespoons. I have it set for a single feeding a day. It is a great device when going on vacation and appears to be very reliable. Put a heavy rock on top of the lid to help keep it being moved around by the weather or critters. So far, so good.

overall i like this feeder for a small pond, it holds at least for me a couple weeks of food so dont have to always worry about them eating. if i had to complain about anything it would be that the controls / display are only on 1 side and where i had mount mine i am not able to access the controls and have to remove the unit to make any changes. given the price point of this item i dont believe adding that extra panel would have cost that much more and would allow easy access no matter the mount position.

Great for overfeeding and killing fish! Even at the lowest setting, this machine drops between 40 and 50 pellets. If you're feeding a large pond or personal lake, that's fine. If you have a small Koi pond with 5-10 fish, this is far too much food.

Used in fish pond with several water features . HAD TO MOVE AROUND POND AREA TO FIND AREA THAT WOULD NOT GET FEED SPOUT WET. Feeder gets a lot of sun and weather Heat , hope it holds up and does not break down composite plastic material used. Thought plastic was kind of flimsy for the price of unit but it does the job of feeding my fish,

After reading the reviews, we decided to put this in a covered bucket as it would be in an area that gets no shade. It was fairly easy to set up. It's a bit of a pain to get it out of the bucket to turn it on and off as we only use it when we're gone. It's easy to refill. We suspended ours over our pond to avoid the raccoon problems others mentioned.
