Mission: Fisher House Michigan is a not-for-profit organization formed to improve the quality of life of our military members, retirees, Veterans, and their families and caregivers. The Organization supports the construction and operations of comfort homes built near VA Medical Centers in Michigan, called “Zachary and Elizabeth M. Fisher Houses. ” The Organization works to inform the Veteran community, their families, and the general public about Fisher Houses, and provides necessary support to Fisher House operations as needed.
Results: Michigan's first Fisher House opened at VA Ann Arbor in the spring of 2020 and is serving thousands of families in its first year. With capital support, a second house will be built in Detroit, to support the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center. Fisher House Michigan provides groceries, sundry items, paper goods, and sanitizing products to keep families staying in the Fisher House healthy and safe while they support their hospitalized loved ones.
