I needed a new computer for school and this one fit my budget and had everything I needed. The on thing that lacks on this is the speakers are herrendous. You have to wear headphones or connect to an outward device. At 100 volume it sounds like it’s on maybe 15.

This is a great computer for the price and I am very happy to have it. I have bought earlier versions a couple times and I like it, but there are some keyboard layout issues you might want to consider. This is not my main text editing computer but when I use it for that, it is a bit of a trial that the up and down buttons are so small and that in NumLock mode which I prefer, the four main movement keys are unaccessible: Home, End, PgUp, and PgDown. Also, the keyboard light times out pretty fast and the onky option to fix it is to go into the bios and turn off the keyboard light timeout which is not hard but may be daunting for many users. Here's my quick tutorial: 1) Restart computer, 2) when screen goes blank start spamming F2 button including during Acer logo screen and the bios interface will load, 3) use right arrow to get to next page pf bios and look for Keyboard light timeout which will be set to Enabled, 4) use down arrow to highlight that line and F6 to change it, then F10 to save and exit and confirm with Enter key. Not hard but be careful not to change anything else while you are in there.

Bought the laptop for editing and college with the knowledge I'd be buying more ram (the laptop has enough ram for everyday use but not enough for gaming, editing, big ticket stuff). I'm in my last year of college, but my current laptop is very much showing its age and not fit for editing. This laptop, however, is amazing! The video quality is phenomenal, the battery life is AMAZING, and I'm a bit of an audiophile when it comes to keyboard sounds, so I LOVE the sound of this keyboard! If you're going to use this for college, home life, or simple everyday use, the 4GB it comes with will be totally fine for you and you will love this laptop just like I do. But honestly? Even if you need to upgrade to more ram, because you're going to be downloading big files, editing, or something else? Compatible sticks aren't expensive and it was easy. I can't say enough good things about this beautiful piece of tech.

Easy to upgrade computer if you put a few moments in, save hundreds of bucks. I am so glad I did this instead of spending money to do things we all can do. Watch you tube

It's great honestly, however I find that the buttons to click/select things using the mousepad gets “stuck” at times, often times I have to click multiple times; it's like it's sensitive. But that's honestly my only complaint with it.

I purchased this budget laptop for a few college courses. I have to say, 4 years later and it is still working beautifully. None of the keyboard keys have faded or even fallen off, and even after dropping it once, chipping the exterior. The backlight is great, keyboard feels smooth, and the hardware exudes quality. Some games can be played on it, but it is not made for gaming. The laptop boots up very quickly due to its SSD, and switching through various programs and Google tabs is very smooth. You won't find a better or more reliable deal than this laptop, especially for the price.Very satisfied customer.

after a month of using this laptop and was initially satisfied, i received the blue screen of death. ive tried running the recovery and diagnostics to figure out what was the issue. being inclined on computers i tested everything and even tried reinstalling windows. still, i continued to get the BSOD. eventually i found out that either the gpu or psu was going out. i guess you get what you paid for.

I love my new laptop, but it's got almost 0 space for anything. I tried backing up my phone to it (which btw iTunes SUCKS on Microsoft) and it couldn't hold. However, I was able to download a series of games, and it does well with split screen and office work. I'm not sure if I have a touch screen. If I do, it doesn't work.

I bought this as a replacement computer for my girlfriend after her last one broke. She is a programmer and needs a computer that can compile code. She bought her last computer for about $300-400 and so that was the price range I was shopping. I looked for performance and this computer was named by several third-party reviews as a high performing computer under $500.So far the computer has been excellent. It has been able to keep up with her demands and download/run all the software she needs.

dell has the same problem with some models ALWAYS open by the center of the LCD and not the right or left side only this puts a harder stress on the plastic and makes one hinge grab harder. Opening by the center puts equal stress on the hinges and less likely to fail.Im a Dell hardware warranty repair tech and i see this type of thing from time to time either the LCD mount points on the back cover break loose or the palm rest mount points break loose and from what ive seen in the photos the palm rest is the problem with this one.How they are put together is a threaded brass sleeve pressed in plastic so the screws can have something to hold it together. By opening in the middle of the screen you put equal stress on both hinges 1 to 1. By the right or left you put stress high on one side and drag the other with it and this changes to a 1 to 5 ratio exceeding what the plastic holding the brass sleeve can handle. When i do this type of repair I always inform the Dell customer always open the screen by the middle and have not seen any repeats of the same problem for them months later.

I bought this laptop for work use and school. During an interview the laptop crashed. Very inconvenient. Used about 4-5 times before it stopped working. Had high hopes due to value pricing and reviews. Very disappointed.
