I started reading this as research for how a story was formatted with a character who was deaf. Then I was hooked and couldn???t put it down. Well done!

This was an absolutely amazing YA contemporary romance. The characters were diverse, complex, and all grew so much throughout the course of the book. The plot was incredibly original and well-done. I highly recommend this book to any and all YA fans.

Five flavors of dumb review The book ???Five flavors of Dumb??? is an excellent book that I would strongly suggest for others looking for a good book to read. The book is crazy with a band of five people which have completely different personalities. Making it even more complicated , Piper vaughn, is a deaf young teenager who has decided to take on the responsibilities of being the manager of the crazy band called DUMB. What makes the book work is how these completely different five people have to work together to make their dreams of becoming famous come true. I loved how this young girl had to overcome her milestones to get to her dreams too. The only thing about this book that I did not like is how they made the main character Piper Vaughn turn more and more rude and harsh every day. I also did not like that her parents were not involved with what she wanted to do. It was definitely a non realistic book in a lot of places where there are things that would most likely not happen in real life. Other than that the book was very well organized and got to the point very well. I love the idea of this book and I think the writer did an excellent job writing this. I would recommend this to someone who likes a lot of drama. This book has a lot of arguments and disagreements which continues to cause more and more drama between the bandmates and others. I would also suggest this book to someone who is into music because the whole book is based on music. I would definitely read more books from this author. I have read a couple of books now by this author and they are both very good. The author Antony John comes up with very creative books. I would rate this book a four because it was very good, but in ways this could have been better. I think a lot of readers would agree that this is a terrific book and has very many great qualities, but I think they would also agree that it is not perfect. For the most part ??? Five Flavors of Dumb ??? Is an excellent book that I think many readers are going to love just as much as I did. I hope Antony John continues to write more excellent books that teens can enjoy at any time. -Grace Ezzell

Well, that went by quickly... I accidentally finished this book way faster than I meant to because I was so hooked, I couldn't put it down. It was really the narrator's voice that drew me in. The plot was the kind of predictable, feel-good story where you kinda knew everything that was going to happen from page 1, but I didn't mind. It wasn't what the story was that pulled me in, it was how it was told. Piper's a fantastic character, and the supporting cast was pretty interesting as well. Also, I thought it was great how the book subtly wove in discussions around the character's deafness... it was a part of her, but it didn't define her.
