Mission: Land conservation

Programs: Eisner contoocook river: this project was a partnership with the american whitewater assoc and the town of henniker which lead to the conservation protection of a 9.4 acre parcel (by 5 rivers) acquired by amer whitewater who subsequently gifted the parcel to the town this parcel was in private hands and went ont he market. It had served as the put-in site for boaters wanting to 'shoot' the challenging rapids just below, and if sold to aprivate party would become closed to the public. The transaction kept the site open to the public, forever.

therrien project: 119 acres of important wetlands and natural habitats through the creation of a conservation easement funded by a nh dept of environmental services aquatic protection grant. This was a result of the site having a significantly high rating for its various environmental contents. It has since becomre a popular site for school science field trips and nature observance gatherings (bird watching session, etc)

twigg project: this project was a partnership with the town of gilmanton the gilmanton land trust and 5 rivers. 5 rivers is the holder of four (4) separate consrvation easements on parcels sold to the town. Two (2) parcels contain actively farmed hayfields, one site is an iconic scenic viewpoint, anth the fourth is a combination of farmed hayfields, tapped maple sugarbush, historic agricultural structions, and significant pond waterfront. The last site has become an active community gathering pl
