Mission: FixNation’s mission is to humanely reduce the population of homeless cats by spaying or neutering as many as possible. By consistently showing the effectiveness of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), we hope to inspire local communities and elected officials to support TNR programs and make them an officially sanctioned and government-funded approach to managing the population of homeless cats.
Results: FixNation’s compassionate programs have sterilized over 220,000 cats over the past 22+ years. Our expert staff has also trained thousands of volunteer trappers, providing them with comprehensive, step-by-step instructions for TNR as well as practical caregiving tips and loans of humane traps.
Target demographics: General public, donors, volunteer trappers and colony caregivers with an interest in naturally and effectively reducing the number of homeless cats and kittens living on the streets and/or entering overcrowded animal shelters.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Our clinic was one of the only spay/neuter facilities in the Los Angeles area that remained open throughout the 2020-2021 pandemic, and we spayed and neutered nearly 16,000 cats. We are currently on track to do even more in 2022.
Geographic areas served: Greater Los Angeles
Programs: FixNation was the nation's first full-time high-volume/high-quality clinic exclusively dedicated to providing spay/neuter surgery and basic medical care (vaccines, antibiotics, pain medicine and fluids) FREE OF CHARGE to community cats. We also offer free TNR training and support, loaner traps and low-cost services for companion cats.
