I try to play tennis 2 to 3 days a week, but getting older is not helping. After using this device for two week (blue bar, 2 -3 sets of 10 - 15 reps of the "tyler twist") I've dramatically reduced the ache in my elbow and how enjoy playing daily. It works...

Heard about an exercise to relieve "tennis elbow" on NPR recently, and bought the therabar recommended. The exercise is easy to do and works - doing it 10 times a day has eliminated the pain. My "tennis elbow" was caused by weight lifting and never got too severe, but was painful enough. No more.

I have been using this as part of my rotator cuff rehab and it is working great. It will be a while before tennis again so I am not sure of the potential tennis elbow relief, but I certainly will be testing it.

This definitely helped my tennis elbow. Now when I feel a flare-up coming on I start back with the thera-band and in a couple of days it is better. I'm sure if I was diligent to use the flexbar every day, I wouldn't even have the flare-ups. I do wish I had know the flexbars come in different resistant strengths.

I was progressing nicely using simple therapy. I tried the Thera-Band, and got worse. When I mentioned this to my orthopedic specialist, he agreed this product is more hype than help. Don't waste your money like I did!

I purchased the green Flexbar to use for tennis elbow pain. Lots of moves that previously surprised me with wrenching pain seem to have diminished. I don't do the Flexbar exercise on a regular basis, just about ten times every couple of days. I'm about 6 foot 180 pounds, and strong enough to do pull ups and push ups easily. I have not tried the red Flexbar, but at this point I'm sure it wouldn't be enough resistence for me. Likewise, I don't think the blue would be overkill, and will probably purchase the blue Flexbar soon. Overall, it's a great portable and convenient tool for working on the connectors around the elbow, and for me at least, it makes living with tennis elbow tolerable.

I've been using this for 10 days now, for acute tennis elbow. It has not miraculously cured me in that time, but I think it's working. When I first used it, the immediate result did seem almost miraculous. I used the red bar. It was incredibly painful at first. But almost immediately, the pain was reduced. It gives a kind of relief after each use (pain is decreased, mobility increased.)I think my condition is exacerbated by constant mouse and computer use. I'm using a band prescribed by the doctor, when I use the computer. The doctor said I should use the band all the time, but that feels excessive. It seems to reduce circulation. So I just use it when it seems like the elbow might be irritated by my activity. Also, I showed the flexbar to my physical therapist, and he was enthusiastic. He said the Tyler Twist with this should produce the desired result. In fact, right now, I'm typing without the elbow band, and feel no stinging or pain in the elbow. Just a few days ago, this was not possible.

I don't play tennis or gold, I play video games. By following the instructions in this NY Times article,[...], I have dramatically reduced the ache in my elbow that I get after hours of squeezing the trigger on a game controller. My Thera-Band light flexbar has held up to may taking it back and forth to work every day for about a year. I finally got a second one so I can leave one at work and one at home. That's helped me remember to actually do my exercises.

first of all, I've had chronic tennis elbow for about a year and tried stretching, light weight workouts, lots of rest, softer string, (quit playing tennis) and a elbow brace. still, my elbow was not getting much better so I decided to give the flexbar a shot. I have been using the blue bar for about 4 weeks and I do 3 sets of 15 reps of the "tyler twist". (just google "tyler twist" to see a video demonstration) so does my tennis elbow feel better. a little bit. I do think this bar works. I can play tennis now with a brace and have no pain so that is progress. I'm gonna complete the 7 week therapy course laid out by the study. (google it) if your a guy, go right to the blue bar and don't waste time on the green and red. of course let pain be your guide, but for me the blue bar worked fine and my elbow was pretty sore.

I bought a Thera-band Flexbar to treat Tennis Elbow. In just a month after I started using it for an exercise often referred to as the "Tyler Twist," I have seen improvement of my condition. At first it proved a stressful, worrisome exercise, but as I've gotten stronger the exercise has gotten easier. My symptoms have diminished. I have certainly arrested the worsening of my condition and turned it around to where I see clear improvement. I now engage in all activities normally, without the soreness and worry that accompanied such activities just a few weeks ago. Not out of the woods yet, but I highly recommend this product and the exercise.

After playing tennis for over ten years, I developed Tendinosis in my elbow after playing tennis on old strings while not warming up enough in cold weather. Plus, as a homemaker I was carrying a very heavy sweeper up the stair, doing lots of laundry, gardening, playing tennis too frequently ect.... Needless to say my elbow gets much use. And, I am at the ripe age for what all the medical sites say for developing TE- 45. Now for the review. I bought the Thera-band flexbar because I was at my wits end. I bought the red one. The Thera-band flexbar did not help because I started it too early in my treatment while my elbow was still too sensitive/pain for the strengthening part of treatment. I can see how this could be more helpful as a strengthening, flexibility exercise once the elbow tendons are more healed. But, in my opinion it is not for the first or second phase or treatment, but could be more for the third. 1. rest 2. stretching 3. strengthening. Please note on one website, I read it takes 100 days for the elbow to have started to rebuild the collagen. Well, after going to a physical therapist for five visits and waiting about 100 days (hmm) my elbow is finally feeling much better. Haven't started to use Thera-band flexbar or playing tennis again, but I could see that happening in a few more months. If I could sell patience for people who have Tennis Elbow (tendinosis) - I would.

I messed up my wrist from a fall off my bicycle. PT suggested this and a couple of specific exercises. Works great. I use it for torsion only (twisting, not bending it into a "U"), so the red (10 lb) one seems about the correct tension for now. I could see that it would be very light tension for bending.I love having it around to pick up and play with as a distraction. You really can't hurt this thing. Also would make an excellent chew toy for bigger dogs, especially if you get the stronger resistance ones. When I get to the point where I am switching from rehab to regular strengthening, I will probably need to get one with more resistance, but that's in the future and a good problem to have.

I developed a lingering case of tennis elbow in both elbows earlier this year from too much rock climbing without enough rest. Every time I thought my injury was gone, it came back as soon as I started any activity, and I had elbow pain for the past few months. I did a lot of research online and came across this product. Based on other customer reviews, I ordered it, and have been very happy with the results. I can feel it stretching and strengthening the tendons around my elbow, and my pain has diminished and is nearly gone. I purchased the red bar, and plan to keep using as a preventative measure against recurrent tennis elbow. I might buy the green one next. I recommend this product to anyone suffering from tennis elbow.

It's rare I can say a product cures an ailment, in fact I can't remember ever making that claim. This bar cures tennis elbow. I used it over the course of a week and the pain mostly disappeared. I still had about 1-5% of the pain in surrounding muscles that didn't seem to get touched by the exercises. After a few more weeks (not using the bar), I had absolutely no pain at all. I've remained pain free for about a year and I only pick up the thera band to show others how to use it.I've had three friends that it helped in the same manner, one was about to quit tennis, now he is playing in the leagues without a tennis elbow brace. One friend it didn't help, but I am not sure he was doing the exercises correctly. Either way, the anecdotal evidence and research is strong and backs my claim. If you have tennis elbow, buy it or borrow one from a friend. You won't be sorry.

I purchased the flex bar for my 81 year old husband. He has chemo-induced neuropathy in his hands, The therapist recommended this to build up the muscles and he now has 75% usage and is again able to write and do all the crafts he loves.

I'm a 42 year old guy and an avid golfer. Five months ago I got new clubs and went a little overboard at the practice range. For five months I've been battling very mild to severe elbow pain looking just like "tennis elbow". It would get better, then I'd play golf, and start over with the pain again. I've iced, exercised, taken ibuprofen, etc., and nothing made it go away completely.Received my red and green bars yesterday morning. I immediately read the directions and then started to do the "tennis elbow" exercise. You can really feel it working the injured area. On the third rep, I heard and felt a loud pop from my elbow joint. After that the pain went almost completely away and was replaced with the kind of pain you feel after exercise. Did it again this morning and "pop" went the elbow again.I'm not saying this will work for everyone as good as it did so far for me, but it can't hurt. Thank you Theraband!
