I have a dad with dementia, and Spectrum cable required two remotes since the Spectrum remote would not work with the older Insignia TV. Plus, the hundred buttons simply confused my dad. I read and followed the instructions and this remote worked the first time! And it has only the buttons he needs and understands. Highly recommended.

The nursing home staff asked me where I got it because they felt it could help lots of their patients. Great item for seniors! One notea tether hole would be helpful though. We had to tape a tether to the remote so it wouldn't get lost.

I bought this for an elderly person who was always pushing the wrong buttons on the cable remote. The cable company was called several times because the tv didn't work. This dandy remote works on all three TV's which is wonderful. No more calling the cable company.

It seems to be just what my elderly mom requires. Before acquiring this device, she would often play with all the buttons on her overly-complicated TV remote control, sometimes getting herself lost on stations or other screens she couldn't exit. This device still has the functionality of a regular remote, but my mother doesn't need these other functions. Its bright white color also makes it easier for her to locate.

This was a life saver for my 90year old mom that was having trouble with her tv remote. She kept pushing the input button and her screen would go blank. She didn't know how to fix it.Since we got her this remote she hasn't had an issue at all. So thankful for the easy to read and simple design

After being regularly called out to my 80-90 year old in-laws, to help them sort out the complex remote control for their TV, I ordered this and it does the job. This remote appears to quite universal, as I could easily teach it the main commands of their unknown-brand existing remote. They still confuse sometimes the volume with the channel buttons (orange vs. blue buttons), but usually find their way in the end. Occasionally the TV needs to be rebooted, so just don't dispose of the original remote controller, which may be needed in these cases. A highly recommended product.

This remote is absolutely perfect for my Mom, who was struggling with the complexity of using 2 remotes with her new smart TV. Easy to set up and easy to use by my 85 yr old mother!

I purchased this item in desperation for my 91 YO parent who had completely lost the ability to properly use a standard Optimum remote control, which when combined with today's smart television multi-functionality, made the simple act of turning a tv on and watching a program a daily dive down the rabbit hole of pop-up menu's for services and settings, none of which she understood or had access to. And, of course, figuring out how to get back to simple functions using the same complicated remote was an even more pointless exercise in futility. None of which I could fix for her, my living an hour away. What made it even more maddening for me was the endless, repeat phone calls for help I was getting every 10 minutes. I don't know why it took me this long to research simple remotes, which led me to the Flipper, but better late than never. I will cut to the chase and detail what it took me to set up the device.1. I powered up the Optimum cable box and brand new Hisense smart TV.2. Placed 2 AAA batteries in the Flipper ( note- while standing less than 4 feet from both units, not sure if that mattered)3. Tested the volume control buttons on the Flipper (the first step of installation instructions provided). THEY WORKED.4. Instructions next directed me to try the channel controls. THEY WORKED TOO. Channel up, channel down, the numerical keypad...all performed perfectly. HOLY $^ !!!5. Tried the LC button (last channel) ALSO WORKS6. As a test, I tried pushing the three additional buttons at the bottom of the keypad, to see if any of those, if hit by accident would cause a problem. NOPE NO PROBLEMS7. Finally, I hit the green on/off button. Both units went dark.8. Still not convinced I was out of the woods, I let the units stay dark for 15 minutes, then pressed the on/off button. Both units powered up immediately and correctly, ready for hassle free viewing.That was it. Could not have been simpler. No punching in of brand codes, no frustrating calls to tech support (hence the no star rating although if tech support is as good as the product...). One thing I did do was remove the sliding cover that conceals the keypad. My mom likes to use the keypad to go to her favorite stations and even a simple sliding cover could prove a problem for 90 year old arthritic fingers.I'd give this item 10 stars if I could. Still let's see how well it works on day 2.... can't see why it shouldn't, but anythings possible.

My 93 yr old Dad has Macular Degeneration 1 arm. Spectrum does NOT have a remote he could use. They said they did not have one to accommodate him.This remote is a lifesaver.
