Ever since I got a bigger fish tank I've been using these carbon filter in my filtration system. They work really well and I've had no issues. I know that on the box they say to change the carbon filter every 4 weeks but sometimes I forget to do that and I've never had any trouble with algae or cloudy tanks. Just make sure that the size of the filter is compatible with your filter system before ordering!

Before buying these filter inserts, I was struggling to keep our 20 gallon tank clean. Algae would start to build up after a few days. The day after putting one of these bags in the filter, I was astonished at how crystal clear the water was! Not only that, we were having an issue with white mold starting to grow in the tank and the day after using this, it was completely gone! And guess what its been about two weeks and the water is still crystal clear! Im seriously amazed and so happy because I was getting really discouraged and was ready to give up being a fish owner. So happy.

I have gotten more serious about my aquarium hobbies and started learning more about it in detail. From what I've recently learned you actually don't even need this stuff and it's just something else to buy. It can help but it is not necessary. Aquarium co-op on YouTube talks about this stuff and talks about how to modify your filtration to save money and there are other videos on there that talk about why it's not necessary. Companies like to exploit The public's ignorance so do your research.

I use these in my canister filter and my water polisher. Carbon will keep your tank from smelling. Add fresh ones once a month or every other month. Remember to rinse them first before you use them.

The bags were too big for our filter, so I cut them in half and sewed them closed. They cleared up the water in the tank so quickly, and has kept it sparkling clear. Very impressed.
