Mission: Founded in 1993, the Food Bank of Northern Indiana works in partnership with the community to feed the hungry, to increase awareness of the effects of hunger and to lead programs designed to alleviate hunger. The Food Bank of Northern Indiana is a certified member of Feeding America. Feeding America, the Nation's Food Bank Network, is the largest domestic hunger-relief charity in the United States. The Food Bank of Northern Indiana serves Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, St. Joseph and Starke counties. Since our founding we have grown from 29 member agencies to 225. The Food Bank distributes around 15,000 pounds of food each business day with nearly 4 million pounds of food distributed in 2009. (Less)
