Causes: Environment

Mission: Our food, water and climate are under constant assault by corporations who put profit over the survival of humanity. They have seized control of the very institutions that were built to protect us. We mobilize people to reclaim their political power, hold our elected officials accountable, and resist corporate control—ensuring we all have the essential resources we need to thrive. This is a fight we must win, because this planet is the only one we get

Results: Just in the past year, we used our grassroots power to stop two fracked gas plants in New York. We push California's governor to end oil and gas permits for new wells within 3,200 feet of sensitive sites including homes, schools, hospitals, prisons, and nursing homes. And, we helped bring thousands of climate activists to Washington, DC, for a civil disobedience action that sent a clear message to President Biden that we need to build a fossil free future.

Target demographics: mobilize environmental activists

Geographic areas served: across the United States

Programs: Through a three-pronged approach of regional organizing, expert research and legislative action, Food & Water Watch works to promote practices and policies that will ensure healthy futures for communities across the globe.
