I am incredibly surprised about how well this works. I use brown sugar rarely, so I end up throwing away the hard rock of sugar that it inevitably turns into between uses.I needed it recently and, surprise surprise, it turned into one chunk. Did some research and it led me to these little guys. Soaked it for thirty minutes, patted it dry with a paper towel, and tossed it in.Next day, consistency of the sugar was back to normal. You will have to resoak every three months or so to refresh the moisture (I set reminders on my phone for things like this). If you have a large sugar jar, you may need more than one since they are rather small. The other thing to mind, try to set it up that it doesn't touch the sugar as much as possible. It did ruin the sugar underneath it (from the moisture) when I threw it in flat, so I repositioned it to this angle.Every brown sugar jar should have a terracotta bear!
