Causes: Community Service Clubs

Mission: The mission of the Resource Center is to benefit the lives of individuals with Fragile X-associated disorders and their families through support, education, public awareness, and advocacy.

Target demographics: benefit the lives of individuals with Fragile X-associated disorders and their families through support, education, public awareness, and advocacy.

Geographic areas served: the Greater St. Louis Area

Programs: Our annual Walk for Fragile X and an Annual Symposium where we invite experts in the Fragile X field to speak on hot topics that parents and educators have areas of interest. We also host family outings for our families and friends to bring awareness to Fragile X, but to also bring everyone together for fun nights out, such as Fragile X Night at the Ballpark or St. Louis Blues Night. We also provide a yearly scholarship to a college student that is dedicating their studies and career path to a career that will directly impact those living with Fragile X syndrome. Every year families from the area partake in Fragile X National Advocacy Day where we meet with our respective members of Congress and advocate for funding to be used for advancing drug and treatment development, and policies that create opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead better lives. The Resource Center helps support the costs for the families that would like to participate as the event is normally held in Washington D. C.
