These are the most popular balls for a reason. They are durable and affordable. The thing about pickleball is that the equipment gets banged up and breaks. It can't be stopped but it can be slowed. These balls hold up as well as anything else out there. They will crack in cold conditions but so will every other ball in existence. These come in a high visibility yellow that is easy to see and track. And these balls rarely get delivered out of round. Buy them in bulk when they go on sale.

My sister who has been playing Pickleball for over 10 years requested these specific balls for her Christmas gift. She was a tennis player as a teenager, and switched to Pickleball when it arrived on the scene. She loves it and loves these particular balls.

It's my own fault. I had no idea I needed outdoor 'winter' pickle balls. They crack easily in the cold. But when the weather is above 50 degrees, they are great. I love the bright color.I recommend.

Franklin X-40 pickleballs are harder plastic and play much faster that softer plastic balls (eg. Onix) so might be an issue for beginners but are great for more advanced players. Everywhere I play outdoors uses only these balls now. BUT in cold temperatures (40 or below) the balls crack so they are not practical outdoors in the cold. I have broken 6 or more balls in an hour of play so had to switch to softer plastic balls that play slower but do not break. If Franklin could solve the cold weather breakage problem they would be perfect and get 5 stars.

These are the gold standard for everyday competitive pickleball play. I switched to the durafast 40 balls for a while and those play a little faster and have better feel. The x-40 balls last much longer! With the durafast balls, you may get 5-6 games out of the before they crack (much less if it is cold outside below 55 degrees). The franklin x-40 balls will play 15 games without cracking most of the time. If I am playing in a tournament then I would probably play the durafast 40 balls, but the franklin x-40 are a much better value with a very similar play.

Don't show up for PB with any other ball at our club or it gets tossed aside. This is the gold standard for our club and this was a great price with all balls in the bunch performing well. To cracks or wobbles in the bunch at delivery.

Love this ball, but went through three in one week when playing with temps below 40 degrees. But then again, they lasted all summer fine!

Our favorite ball so far.Many of the other ones are just too soft. Also, these are just more satisfying to hit? They make a nice little pop when you hit it just right and flies exactly where you want it to. It's gotten so my husband doesn't play unless it's with this ball.
